JOB TITLE:  Marketing Coordinator, Communications

DEPARTMENT:  Marketing

REPORTS TO:  Marketing Manager

STATUS:  Exempt

 

PURPOSE:  To be instrumental in achieving Marquette Group’s sales, profitability and public relations goals by providing marketing and communications support to management and sales personnel in order to increase attention to Marquette Group and/or Marquette Group’s suite of services.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·        Execute the annual Communications Plan (covering business development, existing business and interactive) including conceptualization, research, copy, creative coordination, production and tracking for promotional campaigns, electronic communications and collateral pieces

·        Make recommendations on the creation of new business, account review, company and other presentations as directed including approach, content and branding

·        Coordinate the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including copy writing, editing and coordinating the receipt and/or completion of any components assigned to others, ensuring the final product is attractive, user friendly and timely

Maintain library of all client/prospect presentations and database of previously submitted answers

·        Write and coordinate the creation of Marquette Group’s corporate web site

·        Research, analyze and communicate competitors’ web sites to interactive business manager annually

  • Assist in development and proofing of prospect presentations and annual client reviews
  • Secure printing quotes that are consistent with budget parameters

·        Reinforce company-wide brand standards

·        Research, create and distribute all news releases to appropriate media

 

·        Write/edit, coordinate and distribute quarterly client/prospect newsletter

·        Provide copy as requested for new business letters and for sensitive letters to clients or industry members

·        Prepare presentations for company meetings as needed

·        Assist in execution of corporate strategic plans as needed

·        Create and execute department strategies and tactics

·        Serve on special committees as needed

·        Cross train and assist Marketing Department employees as directed

·        Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, internal staff, management and executive staff
  • Ability to effectively present information to clients, internal staff, management and executive staff
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, journals and reports
  • Ability to write articles and letters that conform to a prescribed style and format
  • Ability to edit internal and collateral pieces prior to final copy
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from internal staff
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
  • Ability to work independently with very general guidance with respect to overall objectives, operate within department policy guidelines using independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
  • Ability to interpret and apply discretion and may serve as technical authority in application method
  • Ability to pay close attention to the specifics and details of the work
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient personal computer skills including internet, e-mail, record keeping, and any appropriate graphics and RFP database software
  • Advance skills in PowerPoint and Word
  • Knowledge of office equipment – fax machines, copy machines

 

EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or
  • Three to five years of Marketing or Communication experience
  • Appropriate industry training (provided by Marquette Group)

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  • Work performed in an environment with correctable conditions such as lighting and room temperature
  • Moderate Noise (office environment)
  • Normally, no exposure to hazards; probability of injury is remote

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Ability to handle light weights such as supplies or materials on an infrequent basis.(10 – 15lbs)
  • Above average visual effort with frequent exposure to visually demanding work involving detailed work
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers
